      MEET CHRIS LORD-ALGE

A professional engineer and mixer since the early 1980s, C.L.A. has become an absolute legend in the sound engineering community. Getting his start as an engineer at H & L Studios in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, C.L.A. started his promising career working on projects by The Stylistics, Sugerhill Gang, and Grandmaster Flash, among others. Upon his relocation to New York City, C.L.A. would put his stamp on some of the most influential artists of the 1980s, including James Brown, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, Jeff Beck, Pat Benatar, Hall & Oates, Chaka Khan, and Steve Winwood. In 1988, C.L.A. relocated to Los Angeles and added to his ever-growing list of musical legends with Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, and The Cars. The 2000s would cement his status as one of the essential mixers in rock and roll history with the seminal American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown albums by Green Day, which garnered three Grammy Awards and have amassed a total worldwide sales of more than 28 million copies to date. Today, C.L.A. mixes, develops new studio tools with Steven Slate Digital and Avantone, and educates the next generation of mixers and engineers on the skills they need to thrive in today’s competitive music industry.
