About This Event

Expand your studio skills with invaluable, practical techniques in this exclusive two-day recording workshop. Sweetwater’s Jason Peets and Casey Cooper unlock all aspects of the professional drum recording process to completely elevate your sound.

Friday, June 12 | 10AM–5PM

During day one, you’ll learn how to confidently run a smooth recording session from start to finish, including choosing the right mics, placing them for maximum impact, avoiding phase problems, building clean headphone mixes, and incorporating the right outboard gear. You’ll see real-world approaches — from simple, efficient setups to big, polished productions — so you can get powerful, quality results. Then watch it all come together live as Casey Cooper records a full song, showing you exactly how pro-level drum tracks are built in real time.

Saturday, June 13 | 10AM–2PM

On day two, you’ll learn to turn your raw drum tracks into polished, mix-ready performances you can be proud of. You’ll discover techniques to build the best takes through smart comping and editing, enhance your sound with samples, and even convert performances into MIDI for total control. You’ll see how to prep your drums for a smooth mix and choose the right routing and plug-ins to create consistent, professional results every time.
